Zinox, the Nigerian ICT solutions giant has reaffirmed its commitment to the vision, mission and aspirations of the Nigeria Computer Society (NCS). Renewed support for the ideals of NCS came from Chief Leo Stan Ekeh, Chairman/CEO Zinox during the society’s recent visit to the tech company’s headquarters in Lagos.
NCS delegation led by its president, Professor David O. Adewumi visited Zinox to identify with the pioneering firm and to appreciate the significant contributions of Zinox to NCS and the development of Nigeria’s knowledge economy. He commended Zinox technologies for the recent support given to the NCS Imo state Chapter’s inauguration as well as to previous National Executive Councils (NECs) of NCS. He noted that the active participation and collaboration of Zinox has been crucial in taking the society to greater heights.
Led by Chief Leo Stan Ekeh, the Zinox high level team included Stanley Okpaleke, Managing Director Task Systems, Emomine Mukoro, Managing Director, Buy Right Africa, Olufunke Oduntan, Executive Director Task Systems, Adesuwa Igho-Orere, General Manager, Task Systems, Emmanuel Onyeje, Chief Operating Officer, Zinox Technologies Group and Echika Ezuka, Corporate Affairs Consultant, . Zinox Technologies Group. In addition to the President, the NCS delegation comprised of Jide Awe, Chairman Publicity and Events Committee, Chinedu Onuoha, Executive Secretary, Iyiola Ayoola, Director Corporate Affairs and Taiwo Oyesanwo, Corporate Affairs.
Adewumi further called on Zinox to strengthen its impact on IT development in Nigeria through strategic partnerships with NCS in identified critical areas. Upcoming strategic collaborative opportunities include the Information Technology Research and Development Workshop, Annual National Information Technology Merit Award (NITMA) Ceremony, NCS Building and the NCS industrial IT Park.
In his response Chief Stan Ekeh commended NCS for the visit while reiterating the continuing interest and total commitment of Zinox to the Nigeria Computer Society. According to Ekeh, the role of NCS is crucial in developing a knowledge society and the Zinox group remains ever devoted to the Society. This is even more so in the present environment where the IT sector is marginalized and there are serious issues of concern in the society that touch on the tech industry and profession.
He requested for NCS advocacy in the enforcement of the local content policy as well as sanity in the various biometric data registration projects being undertaken by various government agencies in the country. The Zinox boss also expressed dissatisfaction with the country’s ongoing crisis in tertiary education, emphasizing the need for innovative, 21st century thinking and stakeholders to revamp the educational sector.
Ekeh expressed Zinox’s interest and readiness in strategic partnering with NCS, especially in the development of the NCS building and the proposed NCS Industrial IT Park. He announced future expansion plans of Zinox, noting that the solutions firm is focused on technology and committed. In a move that both stunned and delighted the meeting Ekeh announced Zinox’s donation of a Toyota Hiace bus to NCS. Professor Adewumi prayed for the continued progress of Zinox as he expressed gladness and gratitude on behalf of NCS for the contribution, which he stated was worthy of emulation and a clear example of Zinox’s genuine commitment to NCS and IT development in the country.
